Armored Sir Integra Hellsing

SIR INTEGRA FARIBROOK WINGATES HELLSING.

probably my favorite character. It took many hours of work and several days of sketching to complete this. Among the obvious reasons, this was actually my first ever Hellsing-oriented fanart I've ever done. I hope to do more in the future, but this shall be my starting point: Head of the Hellsing organization in a custom alternate costume.

The idea to something like this came across while watching the 10th and final OVA of HELLSING ULTIMATE. I love it when Integra involves herself in battle and the final confrontation with The Major where she pulls off her coat was special. Not only because she gets to make the final kill, but as we always see her with her coat hanging on her shoulders, giving her a more broad appearance which caters to her demeanor, authority and reserved emotion. With her anger and prompt leadership I often forget about the sweet image of her when she's younger. She's had a sorrowful life and it has hardened her. Then, as she removes her coat to finish the battle we see a glimpse of her slender female form in her clothes. Not much to go by, but it really set in, which all of this makes her a great female character; one of the best in my opinion. Such a strong lead for a female protagonist (other than standby love interest) in anime. Everything about is unique and intriguing. Anyway...

So I thought it would be interesting to see her in a Knight's style armor

This particular armor style is from a few different influences.

and of course some of my own style, which can be seen in my other deviations that display armor, gauntlets, etc.

I hope you like my little fanart picture. The art isn't exactly like Kouta Hirano, but I think it's good to add a little of yourself in the mix to keep your artistic identity.
